The Recovery Crew Intervention: Rania Ho, Karrie Hovey, and Josh Short

It was my extreme pleasure to work with @karriehovey and @joshshort_ftw as The Recovery Crew on a live, 5-day, on-site creative action repurposing trade show waste into spontaneous sculpture.

A nutty and very fun (and full) 5 days of cardboard slashing; hot gluing; quilting; painting; assembling; stapling; drilling; hammering, and even a bit of glittering!

These artists are Recology AIR alum and came together to work on this project making art out of trash.

Below some process photos:

Here’s what the armature looked like when we started:

And then for the next 5 days, we conjured magic – every day, all day, taking the reclaimed materials and performing some re-fashioning mojo. Here are some process photos:

After 5 days, the final work, with some detail photos. The photos do not do the whole scene justice, but they will have to suffice:

Big thank yous to my awesome Recovery Crew teammates, Karrie and Josh, Deborah Munk from Recology and Eric Anderson from Access!
